We are looking for an experienced Risk & Compliance Manager to lead the compliance team to ensure our company complies with local laws and regulations and who will be responsible for providing advice to the Payconiq business, while ensuring that compliance policies and procedures are up to date and are being followed. The Risk & Compliance Manager will be responsible for enforcing the regulation in all aspects of the business. We are looking for a professional with high ethical standards who works diligently to complete their duties while keeping the business objectives in mind, someone who is comfortable saying “no” when necessary, while being results-orientated.

 

What you’ll do as Risk & Compliance Manager:

Managing the Risk & Compliance function of Payconiq BENELUX

Risk:

  • Effective implementation and oversight of the Risk Framework
  • Support the communication of risk appetite, policies & processes across the business
  • Work closely with project teams to support the assessment of risks and project delivery
  • Build & manage strong relationships with internal stakeholders
  • Review and update risk assessments with internal stakeholders

Compliance:

  • Researching, evaluating and communicating as appropriate, any changes to laws impacting the risk & compliance status of the company and its partners
  • Advising executives on areas of existing and emerging risks and approaches to establish and enhance necessary controls and practices
  • Manage the Payconiq compliance team and support management
  • Defining and supervising the implementation of the KYC framework for consumers and merchants
  • Creating, reviewing, and revising compliance policies, procedures guideline
  • Providing compliance related regulatory guidance and support on business, product, marketing and operational strategies

Operational Tasks:

  • Responsible for the Merchant & Consumer onboarding process
  • Overseeing the transaction monitoring system
  • Performing risk assessments and gap analysis
  • Monitor the AML-activities performed by Payconiq agents or subsidiary
  • Prepare reports for senior management as appropriate

Internal and External role:

  • Primary contact person for all external regulatory bodies including the CSSF for all regulatory matters
  • Partnering with internal and external stakeholders to ensure Payconiq is compliant with all applicable laws and regulations

Requirements

Hopefully, you tick most of these boxes

  • Academic Law degree or equivalent
  • 8+ years experience
  • Experience in the payment industry is a must
  • Experience in working with a European financial regulator: CSSF
  • Broad legal knowledge of Luxembourg and/or European regulations a.o., Anti Money Laundering and Financing of Terrorism Prevention. Sanctions regulations, Payment Service Directive 2, Data Protection laws (GDPR)
  • Interest or knowledge of IT security, affinity with a fintech and/or innovative environment is an advantage
  • Well-organised, detail-oriented, vocal, and hands-on!
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and issue-spotting skills
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is essential
